Merry Christmas to all~

It is Christmas Eve and we're preparing for Santa Claus to make his trip down our chimney. This is the first year we have had a Chimney in our home. Lil man is getting so excited.
I am doing better in the Christmas Spirit, but not where I want to be.

Things here are warm and sunny, unlike typical Ohio weather this time of year.

I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!

Christmas Bleck

Well, we are now 2 days before Christmas. How I am not in the Christmas spirit. I am just in a blah mood. Baking cookies haven't helped any, Christmas music hasn't helped, and wrapping presents haven't helped either. UGH! I am doomed.

Anyway, I will put on a smile and go on. I will keep the spirit alive of my lil man and family.

Will stop by later.

Teach the Children about the real meaning of Christmas

True Meaning of Christmas

Just a week before Christmas I had a visitor. This is how it happened. I just finished the household chores for the night and was preparing to go to bed, when I heard a noise in the front of the house. I opened the door to the front room and to my surprise, Santa himself stepped out next to the fireplace.
"What are you doing?" I started to ask. The words choked up in my throat and I saw he had tears in his eyes. His usual jolly manner was gone. Gone was the eager, boisterous soul we all know. He then answered me with a simple statement . . ."TEACH THE CHILDREN!"

I was puzzled. What did he mean? He anticipated my question and with one quick movement brought forth a miniature toy bag from behind the tree. As I stood bewildered, Santa said, "Teach the children!Teach them the old meaning of Christmas. The meaning that now-a-days Christmas has forgotten.

"Santa then reached in his bag and pulled out a FIR TREE and placed it before the mantle. "Teach the children that the pure green color of the stately fir tree remains green all year round, depicting the everlasting hope of mankind, all the needles point heavenward, making it a symbol of man's thoughts turning toward heaven."

He again reached into his bag and pulled out a brilliant STAR. "Teach the children that the star was the heavenly sign of promises long ago. God promised a Savior for the world, and the star was the sign of fulfillment of His promise."

He then reached into his bag and pulled out a CANDLE. "Teach the children that the candle symbolizes that Christ is the light of the world, and when we see this great light we are reminded of He who displaces the darkness."

Once again he reached into his bag and removed a WREATH and placed it on the tree. "Teach the children that the wreath symbolizes the real nature of love. Real love never ceases. Love is one continuous round of affection."

He then pulled from his bag an ORNAMENT of himself. "Teach the children that I, Santa Claus, symbolize the generosity and good will we feel during the month of December."

He then brought out a HOLLY LEAF. "Teach the children that the holly plant represents immortality. It represents the crown of thorns worn by our Savior. The red holly berries represent the blood shed by Him.

Next he pulled from his bag a GIFT and said, "Teach the children that God so loved the world that he gave his begotten son." Thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift.

Santa then reached in his bag and pulled out a CANDY CANE and hung it on the tree. "Teach the children that the candy cane represents the shepherds' crook. The crook on the staff helps to bring back strayed sheep to the flock. The candy cane is the symbol that we are our brother's keeper."

He reached in again and pulled out an ANGEL. "Teach the children that it was the angels that heralded in the glorious news of the Savior's birth. The angels sang Glory to God in the highest, on earth peace and good will toward men."

Suddenly I heard a soft twinkling sound, and from his bag he pulled out a BELL,. "Teach the children that as the lost sheep are found by the sound of the bell, it should ring mankind to the fold. The bell symbolizes guidance and return.

Santa looked back and was pleased. He looked back at me and I saw that the twinkle was back in his eyes.
He said, "Remember, teach the children the true meaning of Christmas and do not put me in the center, for I am but a humble servant of the One that is, and I bow down to worship him, our LORD, our GOD."

What is my Christmas like?

Your Christmas is Most Like: A Charlie Brown Christmas

Each year, you really get into the spirit of Christmas.
Which is much more important to you than nifty presents.

It's too quiet!!

Well, the family has all departed from our festivities of Thanksgiving.

  • Lil Sis Designing Ohio, my brother, and Diva of Shoe Fashion, mom, dad, and uncle all came down to visit and have a great dinner with family and friends. It was really nice having all of us around the house together. It had been a long time since all of us were together as a family!! We even had a family picture taken. That was fun!

Now, it's too quiet. Hubby is watching football, lil man is watching cartoons, and I am here on the computer.

It's beautiful outside, and I am going to start pulling out Christmas decorations or something. I want to be outside.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

    HUGS,

    EMMITT WON!!

JUST A QUICK POST!!! Emmitt Smith won Dancing With the Stars!!!! GO EMMITT!!!!!!!!!

    14 November 2006

    UPDATE!!!

Hey all. Just a quick update! I am no longer sick!! YEAH!! The house is coming along. Still nead to paint a few places where we had to patch things. The garage still looks like a cyclone hit it, and we still have not found one of the 4 posts for my poster bed! (GRRR). They also trashed my two other pieces of bedroom furniture, put a bug lamp in with my bedding, and wrecked a few other things. I think the moving company is out to get me.

If anyone has been or is watching Dancing With the Stars, I would like to take this short moment to plug Emmitt Smith!! their nose clean. Not only was he an outstanding star football player, but he is a great man off the football field. I think today's children do not have the proper role models to look up to in most cases. I have been plugging Emmitt to my students because he emulates what a successful, educated, and famous man can do after football. I feel that there are some good role models in football (and other sports) today, but they take a back seat to those who can't seem to keepI can only hope that with my knowledge of sports and famous players that made it without going bad, that I can reach those who really need it!

On another note, I want to take this opprotunity to thank all those men and women who without question offer up the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. Our veterans need our support more than ever. I have one that is very close to my heart and three others that served before them. They did not have to pay with their lives, but they did defend what was theirs in their homeland. Please remember all our vets as we continue to defend our freedoms we know today.

I feel that our newly elected congress people may let them down as well as take more from the US citizens than we can afford through higher taxes. I do not usually put anything political in my blogs, but I feel that we, as citizens, need to stand up for what is right and what is ours. I do not want any person to feel terrorised in their own homeland, but when it is a minority, in number, doing the terrorist acts, I feel we need to defend our free country from them. Lest not we forget how our homeland was attacked just 5 short years ago. I pray that we never forget that fateful day. I just want my child and my child's children to grow up in the greatest land that I love!

    VOLS ROCK!!

Just a quick note... The University of Tennesse Volunteers beat the South Carolina Gamecocks tonight in South Carolina!! Rock on "Rocky Top!!" Three more tough opponents await the Vols, but I know they will prevail!!

On the a side note, The Ohio State Buckeyes remained undefeated!!! GO BUCKS!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I have been busy unpacking, cleaning, unpacking, and did I say unpacking??? I am also a little under the weather. Being East of the Mississppi again is not going well. I have a touch of Bronchitis and my sinuses are plugged. (YUM!)

Anyway, I hope you have a restful Sunday!!

    I AM BACK!!!!

We now have 100% e-mail and internet access!! I am so happy. Well, the first 2 months of school are almost over. I can't believe that the end of the 9 weeks is next Friday. Time has surely passed.

I have missed my online friends. Gareth, thank you for the card it was wonderful!!
Lil sis, congratulations on your full time internship and job offer!! Can we say big bucks now baby!! Zen, how are things going?? Ski- how is your school year going? I hope you are doing well. We are doing battle of the books. My kiddos really don't participate b/c the reading levels our librarian uses are too high for some of my kids!

Well, all I must continue unpacking. The boxes are getting to me and I want them all unpacked or put away! UGH! Have a great rest of the week!

    HUGS!

    11 September 2006

The first two weeks are done!!

The first two weeks of school are in the books. I have enjoyed my 5th graders. I am still getting use to not having a true recess time, having the kids all day, teaching all subjects and no specials/ resources on Mondays and Tuesdays. I can't really complain b/c I only have 14 students. Last year I had a total of 63 all day.

I miss my friends at SPE and wish them the best this year. I really hope that they are doing well. As for my team mates, we all left SPE and are embarking in new adventures in different schools. Two of us are in different states. My friend, Cyn, is in TX and I am in NC.

I am just awaiting my hubby to arrive here in NC. He had to tie up loose ends in Louisiana and get everything moved. Lil man and I are in NC and lil man is enjoying his new school. He's attending a preschool/ daycare. I really like the people he has for his "teachers". He told his teacher today that he loves her. She really liked that compliment.

I will blog here again soon. Until then, have a great week and weekend!!!

    28 August 2006

The first and second day of school

Well, I made it through my first and second day of school. I met most of my students. 3 haven't shown up yet. Some of the others told me they moved. We shall see soon!

Anyway, I have a great class. They are almost split in 1/2 in terms of boys vs girls. They seem eager to learn!! The staff is really supportive and I think I am going to like the majority of them.

As for how things are going, the circuit breaker blew today and the other 5th grade teacher and I were without power to our main AV equipment. UGH!!! That is one thing we both rely on. Hopefully we can have it fixed soon!!

Well, I will check in next week. HUGS to all!!

    I MADE IT

I have finally made it about a week ago to NC. I have started putting together my classroom and attending my teacher meetings. I am also learning my way around Fayetteville. I really enjoy it so far. It is far better than where we were in Louisiana. I am still not up 100% on a computer yet, but I will be soon.
Have a great rest of August!

    I have a job!!!!!

Well, all it is official. I am employed in the state of North Carolina. I will be teaching 4th and 5th graders in the same room. This will be a challenge, but I know I can handle it. I said good-bye to my old school and staff today. I started to cry because they have been my family away from home. I just wish I could take them with me!!!!!

Anyway, I want everyone to know that I will be leaving on Saturday and I don't know when I will get to check in.

Have a great rest of the summer and HUGS!

These are pictures of a rainbow we saw while driving to Hobby Airport in Houston. It was very cool!!!

I am still taking a little break here soon. Will be leaving for NC next Tuesday for interviews. Pray that I can find a teaching job! I really need one!

    Have a great weekend!

    Taking some time...

Well ladies and gents, I need to take a break from blogging. Darling husband has received word that he is being transferred to North Carolina. I will have to go ahead of him to find a teaching job. Please pray for us, our move, and my sanity. Little man will be with daddy for a month or so. Pray that he keeps his sanity too! LOL

I will be in North Carolina the first week of August trying to locate employment. Pray for me that I find a job in order to be gainfully employed before hubby and son come.

    Keep your fingers crossed!

    The great life...

HA! That's a great title. This past week has been full of running, meetings, and family. My two step sons have come for their visit. Cut short by 4 weeks because of hubby's class he had to go too. It's been really crazy b/c lil man hasn't been on a schedule since they arrived. My two step sons are 14 and 12.

On Friday we went to the Alligator park. The boys held a live baby gator. It was really neat. The older two were scared, lil man wanted to pet it like crazy. It was a great picture.

This is a gator eating chicken. They have live shows that talk about gators since this is one of the two places that they are actually found. Then we had a birthday part of the middle son b/c he turned 12. We had a great barbecue for him.

Today, I had football sign ups. This was the bummer of the day. We had only 4 kids sign up. I am really bummed about the whole things.

Well until next time.... have a great weekend!

    01 July 2006

Happy 4th of July weekend to all

Well it is time to celebrate the birth of our great nation. It is hard to imagine what the colonists and founding fathers went through in order to create such a great country. I read a book last night to lil man about the birth of our country. It was really neat to see his face light up when I told him that we lived in America, because he asked me if we could go there.

I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday weekend.
    Be careful!

    GOD BLESS THE USA!!

    27 June 2006

    Hey there...

Well, the month of June is almost gone (sigh). I can't believe it has gone that fast. Maybe it did because hubby was gone at school for most of the month. He graduated on Friday and made the Commandants list. I was totally proud of him. He did very well. Next, he will be getting promoted!! I am so excited for him and very proud.

Little man is trying to push all the buttons he can. He doesn't want to eat, sleep, get dressed, or anything on my time. It's going to be on his time. Well, that boat don't float. I have been really firm handed on his buttocks lately and he's not liking it one bit. OH WELL!

How's everyone else's summer going? What relaxing things are you doing? I need some tips b/c I haven't been able to relax yet!! I have 30 days to relax before school starts again. This means brain shutting off and relaxing. This must be done cheaply too. De-stressing is a MUST! Any hints, suggestions, or comments are welcomed!!

Have a great week and weekend!

    Busy, busy, busy

Hey all in blog land. It's been hot, humid and busy here in LA. My hubby has been away at school for his job and is graduating on Friday. That means lil man and I have had an up and down time by ourselves for one month.

Sign-ups for the football and cheerleading league have started. That has also taken up a lot of my time. I sometimes don't know if I am coming or going. I hate that feeling. I have less than 2 months before school starts again too. This summer is flying. I just wish I could take time to RELAX!!!! I really need mommy time!

What are everyone's summer plans? Anything fun??

Well, so far 1 tropical storm and no major damage.... we shall see what all as to offer this hurricane season!

    08 June 2006

    EWWW it's hot!

Well, ladies and gentleman, summer has not officially started yet, but the weather down here is unbearable. It's hot and humid. I told my neighbor today that I was thankful that I didn't put on makeup b/c I wouldn't have any left on after this afternoon.

It's about 90° here and 80-90% humidity daily. At 8:00 CDT it was still 90° outside. That's insane. Thank God for airconditioning and an occasional breeze. Things will just get worse as July, August, and September come around.

Hurricane season started 7 days ago..... I am certainly not looking forward to it! Keep us in your prayers.

Well, I am off to sleepy world. I hope all of you have a blessed weekend!

    28 May 2006

    Memorial Day

Today is a day that I will remember forever. Three years ago at 1:25 AM, my darling son was born. He was born on Bob Hope's 100th birthday. What a day!! It was the best day of my life. I wouldn't change that day for anything.

Today is also a day that we should remember all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country and our freedoms. Thank a service member today for serving our country proudly.

    Have an AWESOME day!

    26 May 2006

    School's out!!!

School is out for the summer. I have nothing really planned for this summer and of course I have a ton do to around the house. LOL

It's hot already here in LA and I can't take it. Thank God for air conditioners!!!

    Well, that's it for now.

    And the results are in........

Well today was the day. The best day and worst day of my students' lives. They found out whether or not they were heading onto 5th grade or a crappy summer of SUMMER SCHOOL!!!!!.... Well, I have some good news and bad news.

The bad news, 9 students out of 57 on our 3 teacher team did not pass the LEAP.

Now for the somewhat good news:
That's an 84% pass rate. You did read that correctly. 84%!!!! Out of those 9 only 4 were regular education students. So, if we take the 10 Special Ed students out of our team (47) and subtract those 4. We have a pass rate of 91.5%.

Now for the AWESOME news.... 100% on my homeroom passed the TEST. I was the only teacher to have that done!!!!! I am so pumped!!!

Today was even made better by my lil man, who came rushing up to me when I came home saying "Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!!" That just put a huge smile on my face. I also received a balloon and cards from him. His daycare provider is awesome. Now, to get her something.

I just wanted to share my bad, good, and awesome
    news.

    09 May 2006

    Git er Done!!

I received this from a friend. I loved it.... My hubby is from Kentucky and with us living in Louisiana, I could see this happening... ROFL!!

The Pentagon announced today the formation of a new 500-man elite fighting unit called the United States Redneck Special Forces. These Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas boys have been dropped off into Iraq and have been given only the following facts about terrorists:
    1. The season opened today.
    2. There is no limit.
    3. They taste just like chicken.
    4. They don't like beer, pickups, country music or Jesus.
    5. They are DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for the death of Dale Earnhardt.
    6. Their favorite movie is "BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN."

We expect the problem in Iraq to be over by Friday.

    Let's do it!!

    04 May 2006

14 days and a wake up!!

Well, the count down is on! We now have 14 days and a wake up before the 2005-2006 school year will be in the books. The kids have summer fever and their grades are showing it. I never saw grades drop like these have this year. It's crazy and parents are going to have fits tomorrow when they see their students' progress reports.

On other news, the heat hasn't totally been turned up here in LA. We are seeing April showers in May. I guess mother nature didn't get the memo that it's now MAY!! I am starting a weight loss program here as soon as school is out. Dieting and exercise galore (something that I can't really do while teaching right now).

**2200 miles in 4 days** Crazy I tell ya!

    TTFN,
    Tiggy and family!

    16 April 2006

    It's been awhile

Sorry it has been awhile. Life in LA has been hectic. I had my 2 step sons for a week, finishing up school before spring break, and now visiting family in Ohio!!! I with Design and the family right now. The only ones missing are my terrific brother and the Shoe Diva.

The weather in La is now summer like. Highs in the 80's and lows in the 60's. The humidity has come back too! :(

Well, only 5 more weeks of school left then it's SUMMER!!!!

Can't tell I am really ready for this!

    31 March 2006

    Life is Grand

Life is better now. My darling husband just secured his job for another 6 years and we're going to enjoy it for now! Lil man is 100% better and I am still not recovered in the voice area , but I am doing much better.

TESTING IS OVER IN THE STATE OF LOUISIANA!!!!! YEAH!!!!

Just thought you would like to know! The testing committee sent off the final papers Wednesday! I am so excited. Now the waiting game begins. It takes approximately 6-7 weeks to grade these. That means the kiddos won't know if they pass or not until right before school is out. UGH!

My students didn't do too bad. Some just needed an extra kick in the butt to stay focused.

Spring break is in 2 weeks, and I will be heading to sunny Ohio to see my sis, DG.

Take care everyone and have an awesome
    weekend!

    23 March 2006

    SPRING HAS SPRUNG!

Ha! Not very likely. This morning we woke up here in Louisiana to a chilly 41 degrees. Tomorrow and Saturday's lows are to be in the mid-30's. YIKES~~ It's craziness I tell you!

Today, I am home w/ lil man with another ear infection. UGH! This is the second one in a month. I just wish the weather would make up its mind b/c that is what is making everyone sick down here. The viral flu and ear infections are just some of the things being seen here. Is it the same where everyone else is? I would love to know! I am stuck with Noggin and PBS Kids Sprout all day!!! Fun, fun fun!! NOT!

Testing week is almost over. I feel bad because I am missing today but no one could keep lil one for me. The kids are doing ok; they are stressed some because they know this could make or break them.

Spring break is in 2 weeks. At that time, I am heading to the grey area called NE Ohio. Hopefully there will be sunshine and warmth up there when we visit. I am going to try and bring it with me sis!! (well, I am bringing the favorite nephew!!)

    HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY

Happy Saint Patrick's Day to one and all. May everyone enjoy wearing green, drinking green beer, and having a grand time.

I for one won't be able to pertake in these festivities per se, but I will be wearing some green!! We are preparing for our hell week, opps.... test week. I hope ya'll have a great week and weekend.

    Warm weather returns

It is official! The warm weather has returned to Louisiana!!! We are now wearing shorts, t-shirts, and sandals. We are planting gardens and landscaping the house. It has been really fun so far this weekend. I am excited b/c one of our neighbors is wanting to go with us on a vegetable garden!! That means fresh corn, green beans, squash, and other things this summer and next winter.

Granted, we have to make it through hurricane season w/ no problems!!! LOL

Now, it's time to work on the summer body more. Lose some weight and find new clothes. :)

    Bleck

I was just realizing today that no one either not reading my blog, or they don't want to post a comment. I see my sis, sis-in-law, and others have multiple posts and I gave what... 1-3? ugh! I am really bummed.

Anyway, this is the second to last week before HELL WEEK!! (Testing in the state of LA!) That week will be very long!!! This kiddies will be going stir crazy by Wednesday!! So will the teachers. Once it's over though, it's smooth sailing! The only huge problem is that the kiddies will just give up and start fluffing off big time! That's the part of testing I don't like. BUMMER!

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

    Ciao!

    Little man

This week was interesting to say the least. On Monday, lil man came home sick, and I mean sick. The poor baby. Anyway, I had to take 2 days off from teaching to nurse him back to health. He had an ear infection, mild pink eye, and some type of 24 hour bug. It wasn't pretty.

Today, on the other hand, is so pretty outside. The trees are budding, the grass is growing, and we're wearing shorts! Yes, that is right. March 5th and we are wearing shorts!

We're planting flowers, shrubs, and new grass outside. I just took a few minutes to update the blog.

I hope everyone is doing great and that the weather in your neck of the woods starts becoming more spring like!

    Spring Rains and Fever

Well, I know spring isn't quite here yet, but we have had the spring rains from you know where. It rained for almost a year straight. My students were getting cabin fever because recess was inside everyday, and they weren't able to go outside to play when they were at home either. Finally, Monday (yesterday) the sun came out. Now it's suppose to be almost 80 degrees out today and over the last week it hasn't been over 45 degrees. It's craziness.

Kids now are getting sick. I am catching a cold and lil one is now sick. I thought Ohio weather was bad... geesh!

    Today is also Mardi Gras!!

So, happy FAT TUESDAY to those who are celebrating and for those who are not, have a great TUESDAY!!!

Just remember, Easter is about 40 days away!!!!

    Life as Me

Well, life as me today was crappy. Tuesday seemed like Monday. The kids were driving us batty. I guess them having 3 day weekend will do it. They didn't want to work, listen, or pay attention. This is the last week of the 6 weeks too!! NOT GOOD.

Anyway, teaching wise, was a bear, but I was tired too. Lil man is really trying my patience. Between potty training, colds, and oter things, I don't know if I am coming or going. I can't wait for Spring Break. March will be soooooo long w/ no breaks and TESTING too! UGG!!

I hope everyones week started off better than mine.

    PEACEMAKER

    You Are a Peacemaker Soul

You strive to please others and compromise anyway you can.

War or conflict bothers you, and you would do anything to keep the peace.

You are a good mediator and a true negotiator.

Sometimes you do too much, trying so hard to make people happy.

While you keep the peace, you tend to be secretly judgmental.

You lose respect for people who don't like to both give and take.

On the flip side, you've got a graet sense of humor and wit.

You're always dimplomatic and able to give good advice.

    HO HUM

Well, the Seahawks didn't win :( Those pesky Steelers won :( I didn't get to see much of the game, but my students sure filled me in on Monday morning. Some, were calling the Steelers cheaters, others were saying the Seahawks didn't show up, and others didn't care. I just laughed and said, "I guess the best team won." They didn't like that.
Now, I have to look up things for the Spelling test bonuses. I was using games for them to earn bonus points toward their grades. They really were into it. Now, it's HO HUM.... We shall see what happens next

As for the rest of this week, it's been up and down. The neck spasm isn't any better, hubby is gone on business for the week, and lil man is really trying mommy's patience. Any takers on taking lil man???

Have a great weekend everyone. I will try to post more, but with hubby gone, it's hard to do it all.

    HUGS!

    The hospital from *ell

Well, I have had this shoulder problem since 11/04. It's a combination of muscle spasm to extreme pain. I have been trying to get a referral to a chiropactor to get to a massage therapist. So far, no go :( I can't take the pain and discomfort anymore. I can only hope to get there tomorrow AGAIN!!!

If not, I am going to scream bloody murder for the entire weekend! Speaking of this weekend, it's SUPER BOWL TIME!! Just a quick poll: Who watches the game for the game or do you watch it for the commercials???? Just curious. I watch for both. We're having a few people over for the game and can't wait to see the STEELERS GET BEAT! Being a Browns fan, I loathe the Steelers!

    GO SEAHAWKS!!!!!!

    Life without football

Today is a very quiet day. No football to watch, no racing going on, no real sports to tune in on the television. UG! I have cleaned the house upstairs, and I am finishing laundry when I am done here. Maybe today we will get more done than usual. We shall see. Things here are going good. Just waiting for rainy season to be over!!!! Have a great week ya'll!

These are really funny.... at least I thought so...

    READ ON:

Some guy bought a new fridge for his house. To get rid of his old
fridge, he put it in his front yard and hung a sign on it saying:
"Free to good home. You want it, you take it". For three days the fridge
sat there without even one person looking twice at it. He eventually
decided that people were too un - trusting of this deal. It looked to
good to be true, so he changed the sign to read: "Fridge for sale
    $50". The next day someone stole it. Caution! . . . . . . . . . . .

While looking at a house, my brother asked the real estate agent
which direction was North because, he explained, he didn't want the sun
waking him up every morning. She asked, "Does the sun rise in the North?"
When my brother explained that the sun rises in the East, (and has
for sometime), she shook her head and said, "Oh, I don't keep up with
    that stuff". . . . . . . .She ALSO votes!

I used to work in technical support for a 24/7 call center. One day I
got a call from an individual who asked what hours the call center
was open. I told him, "The number you dialed is open 24 hours a day, 7
days a week." He responded, "Is that Eastern or Pacific time?" Wanting to
    end the call quickly, I said, "Uh, Pacific" . . . . . . . . .He ALSO votes!

My colleague and I were eating our lunch in our cafeteria, when we
overheard one of the administrative assistants talking about the
sunburn she got on her weekend drive to the shore. She drove down in a
convertible, but "didn't think she'd get sunburned because the car
    was moving". . . . . . . . . She ALSO votes!

My sister has a lifesaving tool in her car It's designed to cut
through a seat belt if she gets trapped. She keeps it in the trunk . . . . .

My friends and I were on a beer run and noticed that the cases were
discounted 10%. Since it was a big party, we bought 2 cases. The
    cashier multiplied 2 times 10% and gave us a 20% discount . . . . . . .

I was hanging out with a friend when we saw a woman with a nose ring
attached to an earring by a chain. My friend said, "Wouldn't the
chain rip out every time she turned her head?" I explained that a person's
nose and ear remain the same distance apart no matter which way the
    head is turned. . . . . . . . . My friend ALSO votes!

I couldn't find my luggage at the airport baggage area. So I went to
the lost luggage office and told the woman there that my bags never
showed up. She smiled and told me not to worry because she was a
trained professional and I was in good hands. "Now," she asked me,
"has your plane arrived yet? ".

While working at a Pizza Parlor I observed a man ordering a small
pizza to go. He appeared to be alone and the cook asked him if he would
like it cut into 4 pieces or 6. He though about it for some time before
responding. "Just cut it into 4 pieces; I don't think I'm hungry
    enough to eat 6 . . . . . . . . . Yep, he votes too.

    The New Year!

Well, the new year has brought some promise to our family. We now will see my step sons 4 more weeks this year than we did last year!!! YEAH!! School is going ok, but I really could use another few days off just to get my house undecorated!! I can't seem to get motivated to complete anything after teaching all day.

I want to thank all of those who wished us well on Tuesday. I really think the positive vibes helped out!

I am resolving to loose a few pounds this year, head back to te gym, and be the best mom and wife I can be!

    How about everyone else?
